The teaching staff members at the Faculty of Dentistry – Libyan International Medical University, Dr. Rania Al-Imam, has participated in the Joint Ministerial Meeting between the European Union and the State of Libya on Health and Education held in Tunis on 6-7 April 2017. Dr. Rania presented her experience in obtaining a doctorate from the Portuguese University of Porto in 2016 as part of the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship. The presentation also included a definition of the Libyan International Medical University and its strategy of self-learning and learning based on solving the dilemmas.
During same visit to Tunisia, Dr. Rania, accompanied by officials from the National Bureau of Higher Education and Director of Branches and Units at the National Center for Medical Research, visited the headquarters of the World Health Organization in Tunis where they met with the representative of the World Health Organization on Libya, Dr. Syed Hussein Jafar who discussed the need to support medical research in Libya.
In addition, Rania, accompanied by representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Education, the National Office of the European Union\’s Higher Education and Scientific Research Programs and the Directors of the International Cooperation Offices of some Libyan Universities, visited the French Embassy in Libya at its headquarters in Tunisia. The Cultural Attaché of the French Embassy expressed his full readiness to support cultural exchange programs between Libyan university students and their French counterparts. The Cultural Attaché has confirmed that scholarships will be announced soon for faculty members in French language and archeology specifically.
